This Privacy Policy sets forth the policies of Marin Horizon School (“MHS” and “we” or “our”) with respect to nonpublic personal information you provide through this web site (the "Site"). These policies may be changed at any time, in which case the revised Privacy Policy will apply to information collected after the date the Privacy Policy is changed and posted. Notice of any change will be provided by updating the “Effective Date” listed at the end of this Privacy Policy. By using the Site, you consent to the terms and conditions of this Privacy Policy.
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
MHS recognizes the value of your privacy and thus appreciates concerns you may have about (a) information you provide when you visit the Site and (b) how we treat that information. We encourage you to read this entire Privacy Policy as it sets forth our policies with respect to personal information you provide us through our Site. Other privacy practices may apply to information you provide to us through other channels. Personal information refers to information that allows us to identify you, such as your name, child’s name and grade, address, zip/postal codes, telephone number, organization or business name if applicable, e-mail address, credit card and bank account information, etc.

Personal Information Collected.
We maintain this Site for informational, fundraising and online giving purposes and in order to facilitate your interaction with us. At our Site, we only collect personally identifiable data when voluntarily and knowingly submitted by a visitor. You can have general access to our Site and browse pages describing our institution without providing any personal information or being required to register at our Site. However, you may not be able to access all parts of our Site or interact with us online without supplying personal information. For example, you may need to provide us with your personal information in order to complete online forms or applications or to facilitate your online giving, or to include your contact information in the online directory. If you ask to receive additional information, we will ask you to provide us with your personal information so we can contact you to respond to your request. If you wish to make an online donation, we will ask you to provide us with your personal information to facilitate the transaction. We also will receive your personal information if you submit it to us when you e-mail comments to the Site or if you complete surveys on our Site. If, as a MHS constituent, you register with the Site you will be provided with a Username and Password which you must provide to us to login and to obtain access to password protected portions of our Site.
Always remember that the choice to provide us with your personal information is your own and you can elect not to access portions of the Site or use Site features that would require you to submit your personal information to us on our Site.
Use and Disclosure of Information.
We use your personal information for five primary purposes:

To help you quickly find information regarding MHS, its alumni and parents, and other services we provide.

To help us create and deliver content most relevant to you.

We may share your information with individuals or companies that perform services for us, such as to our attorneys, and certain service providers, such as third-party web site hosts and financial institutions for the purposes of online giving. These service providers may have access to your information as needed to perform their functions, but may not use or disclose your information for other purposes.

In the “My Profile” section, you may also manage the personal information you choose to share on the Site’s online directory and the email notifications you receive from us. Please note that you cannot opt-out of receiving administrative and transaction-related emails from us.
Age Restrictions.
This Site is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any personally identifiable information from children under the age of 13, and no part of the Site is designed to attract anyone under the age of 13. If you become aware that your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with Personal Information, we will remove and not use or maintain such information. We recommend that no one under the age of 18 submit personally identifiable information to our Site.

This Site contains hyperlinks or "links" to other sites, and other sites may "link" to this Site. Web sites linking to and from this Site may have different privacy practices from the ones described here. MHS parents, staff, trustees and alumni are provided with a user login and an initial password (which you are required to change). Please do not share your unique login and password. You also agree to accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your login or password. You agree to immediately notify MHS of any unauthorized use of your password or login or any other breach of security.
Access to the restricted portions of the Web Site is limited to password holders and access rights vary by user and type of user. For example, parents will have access to the course pages for the classes their children are enrolled in and other pages associated with their class year and other school affiliations. Once you have an account, you may login in to view the restricted portions of the Web Site that are accessible to you and can also manage your profile, mobile alerts, subscriptions and other account information in your account settings.
